Jan Passion

Captain Jan Passion is licensed by the US Coast Guard.   

Jan has been sailing for over 30 years.  He has sailed up and down the east and west coasts of North America, as well as in Sri Lanka, New Zealand, Mexico, the Mediterranean and the Caribbean.

Jan loves to share sailing stories, as well as stories of his work abroad doing peacekeeping and peacebuilding.   He served as skipper on The Golden Rule in 2015 and 2017 - the boat that inspired Greenpeace and helped end nuclear testing back in 1958!

​

In 1998, Jan solo sailed from Burlington, Vermont to St. John, US Virgin Islands and back.   Ask him about the submarine that surfaced in front of him just north of Puerto Rico!

Captain Jan loves to teach sailing!  If you wish, you are welcome to take a turn at the helm, haul on the ropes, read the chart plotter and more!
